Itinerary

  • Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a Morning Glory team member will greet you and transfer you to your hotel, lodge, or hostel for overnight accommodation. Your head guide will meet you there for a briefing, gear check, and to assist with any equipment rentals you may need.

  • Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport, Tanzania. After clearing customs, look for your Morning Glory Kilimanjaro driver, who will be holding a sign with your name on it. Your driver will then transport you to Green Mountain View Lodge or a similar hotel on the outskirts of Arusha.

  • This morning, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, nestled against the steep escarpment of the Rift Valley. This park features an evergreen groundwater forest and a variety of ecosystems, including acacia woodland, grassy plains, a swampy fan delta, and the expansive lake itself. This diverse environment attracts a wide array of mammals, birds, and other wildlife species, including the rare tree-climbing lions. Enjoy excellent game viewing opportunities with buffalo, impala, giraffe, bushbuck, waterbuck, hippos, and many elephants near the lake. Keep an eye out for blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, and the lively olive baboon troops. Overnight at Omega View Lodge or a similar hotel, with lunch, dinner, and breakfast included.

  • After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. The word "Serengeti" is derived from the Maasai language, meaning "endless plain." On the way to the Serengeti, you have the option to visit a Maasai village, where you can explore Maasai culture and participate in tribal activities. Alternatively, visit Olduvai Gorge, known as the Cradle of Humanity; the museum there highlights humanity's journey from its roots in East Africa to its current state as the dominant species on Earth. Enjoy a game drive en route to your camp. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp, with lunch, dinner, and breakfast included.

  • Enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti before transferring to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. From December to April, the short-grass plains are typically teeming with the majority of the wildebeest migration, as well as elephants, birds, and resident game. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and embark on an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Ngorongoro Wild Camp, with lunch, dinner, and breakfast included.

  • Enjoy a full-day game drive in the Ndutu area, exploring diverse habitats such as swamps, woodlands, soda lakes, and the renowned Serengeti short grass plains. Witness the vast herds of wildebeest and zebras, as this period marks the peak of the wildebeest calving season. This time of year offers the best predator action, making it an excellent opportunity to observe high concentrations of wildlife. Wildebeest calves can run within minutes of birth and are typically strong enough to keep up with the herd within three days. The marshes and lakes host a wide variety of birdlife and resident lion prides, while cheetahs are plentiful on the plains, and the wooded ridges are always productive. Overnight at Ngorongoro Wild Camp, with lunch, dinner, and breakfast included.

  • This morning, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive and exploration. The crater, 600 meters deep, spans 16 kilometers across and covers an area of 265 square kilometers. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and exceptional game viewing in what is often described as the eighth wonder of the world. Spot many of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos grazing on the crater floor, along with some of the 20,000 large animals that inhabit the area, including lions, cheetahs, elands, zebras, and gazelles. At Makat Soda Lake, you can often see flamingos and other bird species feeding. In the afternoon, drive to your lodge for your overnight stay at Omega View Lodge, where lunch, dinner, and breakfast will be provided.

  • After breakfast, drive from Omega View Lodge to Tarangire National Park, a journey of approximately 1.5 hours. Here, you will see huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, elands, and oryx gathering until the onset of the rains. In the late evening, return to Green Mountain View Lodge or a similar bed and breakfast for your overnight stay.

  • It's time to say goodbye, friend! Check out of your lodging and enjoy a convenient transfer to the airport. We hope to see you again soon!
